The Project 8 Bible Baptist Church will sponsor a training seminar for those who will volunteer to teach Daily Vacation Bible School classes this summer. Â It is free of charge. Â It will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the auditorium from 9am until 5pm.
I am an advocate for child evangelism especially of the Daily Vacation Bible School classes. Â I ought to be since I came to Christ while attending a DVBS at the Mandaluyong Bible Baptist Church at the corner of Nueve de Febrero and P. Castaneda streets. Â It was in 1972, the summer before I started school. I was only five then. Since that time, I have attended many more DVBS, I have taught DVBS classes. Â I trained with the Child Evangelism Fellowship in Des Moines, Iowa when I was a senior in high school and since then, I have trained many others to be “apt to teach others also.”
I do realize that most teen-agers have better things to do this summer than to teach hundreds of kids from the depressed areas. Â Instead of laying a guilt trip on you, I have decided to include in my blog an excerpt from a sermon preached by Charles Haddon Spurgeon in 1877 on the verse Genesis 42:22 entitled “Do Not Sin Against the Child.” Â It is my hope that you will be persuaded by the truth of the Word of God as explained by Charles Haddon Spurgeon.
